Equatorial Guinea

While Equatorial Guinea has intermittently had some form of log export ban on the books dating back to 2008, enforcement has proven inconsistent and significant volumes of logs have been exported. In September 2020, a presidential decree banned all log exports, but a decree in October 2020 reopened the trade. The government has reaffirmed its commitment to aligning with the broader CEMAC policy agenda, but implementation to date has lagged.
